Bunker's Hill
Join our mission to rebuild Bunker's Hill, Trelawny after Hurricane Melissa
Built by nature, heritage, and the strength of its people, Bunker's Hill has always been a place of resilience.
Today, after Hurricane Melissa, many families have lost their homes, roofs, crops, and sense of security. Our campaign is focused on raising the funds needed to buy building materials, restore damaged houses, and help our elders and families rebuild their lives with dignity. This is a community-led effort, built on transparency, accountability, and unity. Bunkershill.org is dedicated to raising funds for rebuilding homes in Bunker's Hill after Hurricane Melissa. We harness community strength to support recovery efforts.

Our Purpose
Help Rebuild Bunker's Hill; One Starter Pack at a Time.
My Story
My name is Christopher Brown, and I was born and raised in Bunker's Hill, Trelawny, a small rural community nestled in the hills of Jamaica. Growing up there was a simple, honest, and deeply connected way of life. We ate fruits from the trees, played by the river, and relied on one another like family. It was real and grounded, a place where nature’s beauty and strong community values shaped our character and taught us pride, humility, and resilience. Today, the community that raised me is fighting to survive, and that is why this mission exists.
The Storm That Changed Everything
When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, it passed directly over Trelawny as a Category 5 storm, leaving behind unimaginable destruction. My own family, including my mom, grandmother, uncles, aunts, and cousins, all lost their homes or suffered severe damage. Many of our neighbors are now displaced, sleeping under broken roofs or staying with relatives who are already struggling.
Historic parts of Bunker's Hill, including schools, churches, and other community landmarks, were also badly damaged. What was once a proud and peaceful place is now facing devastation and despair.
Because Bunker's Hill is small and remote, it is often overlooked when government aid is distributed. Larger towns get help first, while families here wait in silence, hoping someone remembers them.

The Bunker's Hill Community Trust was created by proud people of the district and the diaspora who believe Bunkers Hill deserves a strong and sustainable future. Our community has stood for more than 150 years, with roots going back to its founding in 1787. We are a united effort of residents and diaspora working to protect, rebuild, and uplift our historic district. Bunkers Hill carries a rich legacy shaped by the Maroons, whose strength, resilience, and deep connection to the land sustained this community for generations. Today, we honor that heritage with a clear vision: to restore our community after Hurricane Melissa and build a stronger, brighter future for all.
